This is a traditional spring-action lever switch which was used on original 50s Stratocaster® and Telecaster® guitars.

Did you know...? Spring action 3-way switches were used in Fender's early days on their Stratocasters - when several players discovered (notably Jimi Hendrix) that by removing the spring, the switch blade would get stuck in between positions 1-2 and 2-3 resulting in different pickup configurations (positions 2 and 4 on a 5 way switch) ultimately leading to the 5 way switch being installed in the Stratocaster® as standard in the 1970s.
