The classic 5-way switch wiring found in the Fender® Strat. The most common switch found in Stratocasters is either a CRL USA (spring action) or OAK. Ideally, you want the spring facing away from the main controls. The switch will work the same way whatever direction you have it facing. However, it is easier with the spring facing outwards as there is more room to connect the inward facing lugs to the relevant tone or volume pots.
