Another popular Strat wiring setup is making use of a three way switch - despite the tonal range of a 5 way switch, not all guitarists like it and avoid using the in-between switch positions. This 3-way Strat wiring makes use of a master volume control, master tone control and a blend control for the middle pickup. This allows you to blend the middle pickup in when desired (meaning you can have all three pickups on together or the neck and bridge together for the Tele quack tone).
