SG Wiring Kit

Wiring kit for SG or similar models.

This kit is perfect for re-wiring jobs, your DIY guitars, imported copies or the stock electronics that come with the majority of DIY guitar kits. Quality components from reputable manufacturers such as CTS, Switchcraft® and braided cloth guitar wire are the only choice when wiring a high end guitar.

The deep threaded nut for Switchcraft® toggle switches is supplied to ensure the thread goes through your guitar body. We also include heat shrink rubber tubing which you can use to insulate the braided wire as it runs through the control cavity.

SG Wiring kit includes:

• 1 x Switchcraft® right angle toggle switch
• 4 x 500k SSS Premium® CTS pots (8% tolerance)
• 1 x Switchcraft® 1/4'' extra long thread output jack
• 2 x 0.022uF 100v orange drop capacitors
• 2ft Gavitt® USA push back cloth guitar wire
• 2ft Gavitt® USA "Gibson® style" braided guitar wire
• Heat shrink tubing

• Optional SSS Premium® PIO capacitor upgrade

SSS Premium® CTS Pots

Featuring SSS Premium® CTS pots, our wiring kits are the ultimate upgrade to any model, be it a DIY partscaster or Custom Shop. SSS Premium® pots have a custom audio taper giving a smoother and more rounded volume and tonal sweep.

Will this kit fit my guitar?

This kit will fit genuine Gibson® USA SG guitars without modification. However, this kit can be used in many imported models or SG copies as well but you may be required to make some modifications to your guitar. The thread shafts of the pots are 9.52mm in diameter and so you may be required to drill these holes larger (M10) to allow for the larger US pots.

The control knobs will also need to be imperial as opposed to metric which are often found on some of the smaller pots commonly found in imported models or copies. We stock a range of control knobs to fit this kit including the classic bell knob, speed knob and top hat knob.
