Esquire Eldred mod® wiring kit.

This Esquire® wiring kit makes a perfect upgrade to many imported models and is perfect if you are building your own guitar or for upgrading the electronics that come with many DIY guitar kits.

 The components are from the highest quality manufacturers in the guitar industry - CTS, Switchcraft® and CRL are the premier choice of techs and luthiers worldwide.

The CRL spring action 3 way switch is highly regarded and considered as superior to the OAK Grigsby switches found in many modern Telecasters.

Esquire® Wiring Kit Includes:

• 2 x 250k SSS Premium® CTS pots (8% tolerance)
• 1 x 0.047uF 100v orange drop capacitor (optional paper in oil upgrade)
• 1 x 0.0047uF orange drop capacitor (optional PIO upgrade)
• 4ft 22 gauge, Gavitt® USA cloth wire (2ft black, 2ft yellow)
• 1 x CRL USA 3-way Tele® switch (with spring action)
• 1 x Switchcraft USA 1/4'' mono jack socket
• Heat shrink tubing
• Easy to follow wiring diagram

Esquire Eldred Mod Switch Controls:

Position #1. This rear position is the same as on a standard Esquire. The pickup goes through the volume control only, with the tone control bypassed for a hotter, louder lead sound with added highs.

Position #2. The middle position is also the same as on a standard Esquire, with the pickup going through both the volume and tone controls. It sounds a little warmer than position #1.

Position #3 The pickup goes through a single, small capacitor (0.0047uF) and the volume control, with the tone control once again bypassed. It removes the fixed treble roll-off network and replaces it with the capacitor. This gives what is popularly known as the "cocked-wah" effect.

SSS Premium® CTS Pots

Featuring SSS Premium® CTS pots, our wiring kits are the ultimate upgrade. SSS Premium® CTS pots feature a custom audio taper as opposed to the modern 10% audio taper, giving you a smoother and more rounded control sweep. 

Will this fit my guitar?

This kit will fit genuine Fender Telecaster/Esquire models and can be used in countless Tele® style imported models and copies. The pot shaft diameter is 9.52mm so if installing into an imported copy you may be required to drill the control plate holes to M10. You may also be required to purchase new control knobs. Many imported models use small pots so you will need imperial control knobs that fit the larger CTS pots.
